Bellatrix Corporate Pty Ltd (Bellatrix) was founded in 2016 by Melissa Chapman and Catherine Grant-Edwards to provide its clients high quality outsourced accounting, CFO and company secretarial services.

Between them, Melissa and Catherine have gained a wealth of experience in both public practice and in corporate roles, and have worked together for the past six years in providing accounting, CFO and company secretarial services to numerous ASX-listed companies. Bellatrix offers its clients access to a dynamic mix of skills and experience, borne from the complementary skillsets of the company’s co-owners. Individually strong, together formidable.

Bellatrix’s strength lies in the collective experience of its executives and dedicated small team of accountants. Bellatrix seeks to be a mere extension of your team, providing you with a personal service. While services are outsourced, we see ourselves as an integral member of your team.

We are armed with the skills and experience in audits and financial reporting requirements, and boast public practice experience in the ‘Big-Four’ external audit space. We have corporate experience in providing company secretarial and transaction services to ASX-listed companies.

We have a proven track record with transitioning companies to a new accounting system while implementing processes to drive positive change. We aim to simplify and streamline our clients’ financial reporting processes and compliance related work, with a focus on getting done what needs to be done, efficiently. Simplification.

B.Com, CPA, AGIA/ACIS, GAICD

Ms Melissa Chapman has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Murdoch University, majoring in Accounting.

Melissa commenced her accounting career in the mining sector in 1999, working for Mt Pleasant gold mine and Kanowna Bell gold mine in Kalgoorlie. Following this, she worked at Mt Keith Nickel Operations on a FIFO basis. During this time, she qualified as a Certified Practising Accountant with CPA Australia.

In late 2002 Melissa moved to London where she worked for multi-nationals such as the BBC and Lehman Bros. Between 2005 and 2010 Melissa worked for BSG Management Services (BSG) in the role of Group Financial Controller. During this time, BSG managed a group of companies worth approximately USD $4 billion, with operations predominantly in the natural resources, property, and investments sector.

Returning to Perth in 2010, she accepted an opportunity to join a ‘finance house’ providing accounting, CFO and company secretarial services to a number of ASX-listed companies with a focus on mineral resources.

Melissa completed a Graduate Diploma of Corporate Governance with the Governance Institute of Australia in 2012.

Melissa completed the company directors course with the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2017.

Having obtained commercial experience in a diverse range of sectors both in Australia and internationally, Melissa has a wealth of experience in corporate company matters and structures.

In 2016, Melissa entered into a business venture with Catherine Grant-Edwards to form Bellatrix Corporate Pty Ltd.

Ms Catherine Grant-Edwards has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia, majoring in Accounting and Finance.

She commenced her career at Ernst & Young Perth in the external audit division. Catherine gained valuable experience in her seven years with the Big-Four professional services firm, working with a diverse range of clients including Wesfarmers Home Improvement Division retail giant Bunnings, ASX-listed junior exploration and mining companies, and large proprietary and privately owned companies in the strategic growth markets space. During her time at Ernst & Young, she qualified as an Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA) in 2006.

In 2011, Catherine transitioned from her role as Senior Manager with Ernst & Young, to take up a career opportunity in commerce working as part of a ‘finance house’ providing accounting, CFO and company secretarial services to a number of ASX-listed companies with a focus on mineral resources.

Her background in external audit, and more recent experience in corporate company matters has afforded Catherine with an excellent grasp of compliance matters with relevant commercial experience.

In 2016, Catherine entered into a business venture with Melissa Chapman to form Bellatrix Corporate Pty Ltd.
